i thought that i was about to flare again this last two days but it seems to be holding off normally before a flair ,i get a wave of tiredness and then the skin breaks out . i had a day of feeling fatigued yesterday but the skin seems to be calming and leveling out again . feels like its teasing me this week .
my skin condition is pretty good this week and i can actually feel the skin on my face and neck getting softer . it is still dry in the mornings but as soon as i wash and put a thin layer of vaseline on thats me done untill t-time .
the amount of vaseline i am using is decreasing by the week . hardly any on my face at all . thin layer on my neck and hands and that is it .
i havent taken any medication for weeks now . no anthystamines for ages .this is due to the lack of itching . i rarely itch at all now and when i do it seems more like a habbit than a need to physicaly itch .
i am still suffering from spots but i think this might be due to the natural oils coming back in my skin . they seem to last for about 4 days then go . but they do seem to be persistant little sods .
so generaly i feel prety good . people are noticing the difference .
just to add that i have seen quite a few comments on different blogs about diet and what cremes to use . i feel so sorry for the people who are starting out and looking for cures or dietry changes . personaly i think its a waste of time changing diet and looking for reasons to why you are flaring . its down to one thing and that is the nature of TSW . i agree that eating healthily is good but i also think that the body reacts to to much of a sudden change in your normal diet . the gut needs time to adjust so a slow change in diet is better in my opinion .
i went through the same thing . i cut out dairy - no change . i cut out some fruits - no change . and it goes on and on . all i can suggest is that you stick to your normal diet . if you do notice a big reaction to a certain food then avoid it for a while untill the initial flare period subsides . then try the item again . i bet any money that it makes no difference . i could be wrong though as we are all different .
as for cremes , i swear by vaseline and nothing else . its gloopy and ugly and sticky and gets everywere but it also aids movement and creates a good barrier for skin that needs protecting .
on a bit of a tangent , i have mentioned that people are saying how good my skin is looking . well i thought about this a lot last week and as i mentioned in a reply , if when i started this journey someone had told me that this would be the final result and how my skin is now is how it would always be then i think i would have been over the moon .i would have gone through it all for this as an end result . so now i am thinking that my journey is going to be a two half journey . this is how i am now , i know ive got flares ahead but i feel so much better than i did a year ago . the second half of my journey starts now and i am calling it the BIG RUN IN TO NORMAL SKIN .... i feel like ive climbed the mountain and i am looking down onto the vally . ahead of that i can see the horizon . if it takes another 7and a half months then thats ok . but the mountain is behind me .
happy healing to you all .
